Taste of the Lake District

Being a family run business, Applegarth villa knows the value of supporting family business. Wherever possible we buy fresh local produce.

All our meats are supplied by Udales of Milnthorpe. Ian and Neil continue to run the family business that was founded in 1905 by their great grandfather.

Our free-range eggs are supplied by F.W. Park a family run business based at Bannerigg only ¼ mile away from ourselves.

Our game and smoked products are supplied by Cartmel valley game and smokehouse. John uses his knowledge of being an ex-gamekeeper to know his game!

Our fish comes from My fish based on the shores of Fleetwood. Gary started his business in 2015 and has progressed to being one of the prime fish suppliers in the northwest.

Our delicious coffee & teas are supplied by Farrers of Kendal. With over 100 years of coffee know how, they certainly know their roasts.

For everything else we use McClures. Based 100 yards away from Applegarth and founded in 1945 by Bill McClure, it is now run by his son and 2 grandsons.
