WHERE’S THE CORK?
Great wine deserves a great cap, which
is why for the very first time, you can enjoy some wines without
the need for a corkscrew…. Why? Because it’s sealed
with a screwcap which:-
(a) Eliminates cork taint the causes the
wine to have a musty smell and taste.
(b) Virtually eliminates all risk of oxidation which dulls
the wine.
(c) Helps the wine age by preserving its freshness, aromatics
and varietal character.
(d) Is convenient – simply replace the cap and twist
to re-seal.
Many winemakers who make the very best
wines have often been dissatisfied with cork. That’s
because up to 10% of wines are affected by ‘cork taint’.
(an unpleasant musty smell and taste). So why did we use cork?
It’s simple: there was no better alternative. Fortunately,
new technology has given us this screwcap closure which completely
eliminates cork taint and other problems associated with cork.
